Hi, I'm Sabina (Sabi), welcome to my abstract world of color and texture. I am a full time artist, based in Bentleigh, Melbourne where you will find me painting away in my gallery and studio.
I have spent over 11 years perfecting my craft, experimenting with mediums and products and drawing on personal experiences to come up with original paintings that grace the walls of hundreds of homes both throughout Australia, as well as internationally in Europe, Asia, and the UK. When you buy one of my paintings, you are truly buying a piece of my heart too.
I was always a creative child, I loved to write and draw however "real life" took over and as an adult I spent many years in the corporate world, working in advertising, marketing, design, radio and media. My true passion was always laying beneath the many layers.
It wasn't until the sudden passing of my father which led me back down the creative path. Painting offered me a calm that I couldn't find anywhere else, as well as the ability to completely tune out and immerse myself in art. I love allowing myself to be creative and completely lost within a painting. Painting takes me on an exciting journey and I never quite know where the final destination will be. I am naturally drawn to bright color palettes and love the many textures that can be achieved within a painting using my palette knife and impasto skills. I am an organic painter, I never plan too far ahead, I allow the paint and the mood to guide me along the way.
